What is Judo?
Judo is a Japanese grappling art, meaning it does not focus on punching and kicking. Judo is also an Olympic Sport although we do not focus on competition. Judo began as a way to teach the hand to hand fighting style of the Samurai of Japan to people of all ages safely as a means of physical education and self defense. It is derived from Jujutsu, and related to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Why do you do this?
We believe in service to the Community. We believe in teaching children and adults a means of self defense. We have seen students grow in Balance, Coordination, Concentration, & Strength. But more importantly in Faith, Service, Confidence, and Leadership. We are a Ministry of Christ's Community Church.

How Long Until I Get a Black Belt?
This is a very common question that has a complex answer. The short answer is if you begin in the Sr. class, are diligent in your study, gain proficiency in what is taught, attend class very regularly & study outside of class; 5 years is not unreasonable.
